AKC German Rottweiler Name?

By

Hello,

I have a Rottweiler puppy and I want to register him with the AKC, but I need help with coming up with a name. His name is Troy, but does anyone speak German that can help with getting his registration name? I know that the breeder’s name is typically used but the breeder didn’t have a kennel name. The father is “Weingraber” and the mother is “Mar-Ub”.

Help? =[

How about “Big fat waste of money”

works for me

Keep in mind, dogs respond to two syllable names best.

Klaus, Fick, Hauser, etc…

Look in a German dictionary.. a lot of words end in “en”.. in fact, most verbs do!!!

Wilvem? Hans? Or how about Brummer? (means roarer.) There is a whole list of them at: http://german.about.com/library/blhunde01.htm.

Good question being as i dont know any german either. Maybe people will grow up and quit being rude and actually be able to help you. Good luck and I hope you find a name!

How about (your name) Troy-Bilt? (A brand of tool.) Nice manly name.

And Dr. whoever, take your prejudices somewhere else. If she wants to register her puppy with *AKC* (A valid, reputable registry that does much to promote dogs) that’s her perogative!

I don’t speak German –

For work I often use http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_txt when I need to translate.

Troy is still Troy in German. You could easily simply add “Von” (which means “of”) and “haus” (house) to a version of your last name (or whatever strikes your fancy) and it would sound reasonably German). So something like “Troy Von Lorenhaus)

Sargent Schultz from Hogan Heroes….”I no nothinggggg”

Johann (“YO hahn”) is easy to pronounce when calling him.

It is the German version of “John”

Watch out for one previous answer, “Fick” means F*** in German!

Chuck, Bob, Carlos, Steve, Tom,…..something along those lines. I import GSD’s regularly…and those are common names given by the Germans to their dogs. Naming a Rottweiler Fritz, Adolph, Lugar or Gestapo would immediately identify you as an American trying to sound German. And, if you have the European papers….why bother with AKC?
