I need a name for my new puppy!?

I recently got a new puppy to accompany my older dog Larka. The new puppy is a Labrador retriever mix with a bermese mountain dog. she is black with white paws, white tail tip and a white strip down her muzzle and face.
I would like a good name that would stick with her forever. I don’t really like the names like lulu, honey,lucy or really common names.
What dog breed do you suggest?

I live with my boyfriend who has a large labrador retriever, so I do not want any toy or small breeds that could get hurt by the lab, but nothing so big that I can’t control it/afford to feed it!!
Any suggestions?
Will a black lab/golden retriever mix be all black?
Posted by: | CommentsMy female golden retriever is pregnant with a male full bred black lab’s puppies. He wasnt our dog but I know the person who owns him and I know hes a full blooded labrador. I know that when any color lab has puppies with another lab, the puppies can be all different colors, so I was just wondering if the female is a golden retriever can have the same type of litter (that being different colored pups) as a lab on lab litter?

Posted by: | Comments-first off i want to get a golden retreiver puppy in the summer so i can train it to be alone by the time we go to school. will i be able to pull that off because my parents are always at work wed-friday 7:30-? 3:00ish and i come home at about 2:30so it will have to be alone for 7 hours! and if it potties in the house…well they are big dogs and i cant wee wee pad train em cuz they will make too big messes n crating isnt fair!
-2nd what should i know about the breed before buying it
-any suggestions of where to buy it in nyc?
-should i consider a different breed? (i was thinking about huskies but idk n i dont want a labrador)
so how old should the puppy be when i buy it?
i will have two months to train it so …if i buy lets say a 4 month old it will be 6 months old by the time i will leave it alone for long periods of time
Quick question on Labrador Retrievers?
Posted by: | CommentsI have been searching through breeders on the kennel club website (UK) for a lab, but some of the breeders point out that the parents of the puppies are working dogs.
I am after a family pet and she (the puppy) will be brought up as one, as apposed to a working dog.
Does it make any difference when it comes to temperament, or suitability as a family pet, if her parents are from a working bloodline?
Thanks dog chick. We are a very active family, so a little extra exercise isnt an issue.
Hoku, please explain you’re comments. I am looking through extremely reputable breeders on the kennel club website, all accredited. I am not interested in a rescue dog, although I admire you for suggesting that I do.
I breed Labrador Retriever dogs and German Shephard dogs for a living. I have 3 female of each breed and 1 male of each breed. This is not because I am a backyard breeding but because I find owning female dogs easier. It’s also because male dogs go crazy over female dogs when in heat.
I have a litter of 4 weeks old Labrador pups and I have a couple coming over my home today to see the pup and to pick one out. They are not leaving my home until 8 weeks old.
Would a propective puppy buyer/owner be conserned about buying a cute pup from me just because I have a lot of female dogs? It’s not like I breed them too often. I stud my dogs out all the time and they have both had a lot of litters. My female dogs don’t get bred past 7 or 8 years old and they are well looked after and I never breed on EVERY heat. I always leave 1 heat cycle in between a breeding and never have more than 6 litters per year.
Other people have decided not to buy from me because I have girl dogs.

my 6yr old labrador retriever always gets on top of the baby st bernard, i think that my lab thinks that my new puppy is a girl. what should i do to stop this behavior? should i cage the new puppy or just let him roam around
Why is my puppy so skinny?
Posted by: | CommentsI have a year old labrador retriever that I love dearly. He is a large dog but very skinny. He eats normally and acts/plays normal. He’s so skinny that you can actually see his ribs! The vet doesn’t see anything wrong and recommended changing his food and this helped a lot for awhile but now he has lost the weight and is back to being skinny again.
Please help!
