@Hilltopperpete tanks been destroyed i got tired of lookin at jsut snails and what ever wanted to come alive in it im stickin to freshwater lol any 1 a pro at keepin freshwater tanks

You have to use RO water, as the silicates in tap water feed the growth of the brown silicate algae. Simply use a very good protein skimmer and get your water from the fish store or one of those grocery store kiosks for $0.20/gallon, and you’ll get rid of it in a few weeks.
