You have to use RO water, as the silicates in tap water feed the growth of the brown silicate algae.  Simply use a very good protein skimmer and get your water from the fish store or one of those grocery store kiosks for $0.20/gallon, and you&#039;ll get rid of it in a few weeks.</description>
