It sure is a big dream. If you are able to own and love a dog of any breed and keep that dog for the length of its life, you will be blessed. I choose not the breeds, but rather the ones that are in the shelter’s with no hope of any future for them at all. Dogs are very expensive and once you pick one out you should take care of that dog throughout the course of its life. I would love to save all and take all in but not feasibly possible. We have to pay to live and take care of ourselves let alone the cost of a dog.

I have my dream dog. Took me 20 years to get him.

I’ll never have another like him. All my dogs from this point will be rescues.

You’re gonna need to win the lottery.

I do highly doubt you’ll be able to own all of those dogs in your lifetime. Even three of those at the same time wouldn’t work. I’ve had most of the breeds I wanted. Still on the goal list is a Tibetan Mastiff, Komondor, working line GSD, and Giant Schnauzer

Gosh not only are you going to have to live in a house in the country, ur gunna have to own the whole country XD
Yes! Mine is a Berger Picard =)
And I have completed that goal! I’m getting one in May =)

I always change my favorite dog breed every week or so, lol. First I wanted a Bichon, then a Chihuahua, then a mini Bull Terrier…but in the end, I adopted a mutt, because having a dog is not about it’s pedigree, or crossing it off of a master list, it’s about having a companion to love and care for.

I noticed that in your list, there is a wide variety of lifestyles of dog. Do you want a working dog, a lap dog, a hunting dog…? As you’re 13, I’m assuming you don’t really have an idea about what your adult lifestyle will be. (Some of those dogs take constant attention and exercise, while others are okay to be left alone most of the day while you’re at work.)

I know you said not to tell you that your dream was impossible, but those are a LOT of dog breeds. Dogs, depending on their breed, live about 10-15 years. Say you had two dogs at once, and they lived to 12 years…you’d be dead before the end of your fantasy list.

I think you need to really think about what dog breed you’d love and care for depending on your lifestyle…and narrow the list down. (Dogs aren’t collector’s cards!) I think everyone has their ideal breed, but like I said above, when you meet the perfect dog, even if it’s a mutt, you’ll know :)

You realize that most dogs live 10+ years. That means you would own MANY dogs at the same time so you would have to live on a farm. Another way to achieve your goal would be to foster different breeds and help them find homes. That seems like the best way to have so many different breeds. Some of the breeds you listed are pretty rare and expensive. I won’t say your dream is impossible but highly unlikely.

13

Hii! I don’t know if your going to achieve it because some dogs live till they’re like 13 or 15 in people years, or you might wanna be someone like a foster family that takes dogs in then tries to find them a new home, so you can really achieve it!

Oh yeah and my favorite breed is a JRT & a Black Lab! Black Lab cause I had one and she was unbelievably smart. Yeah you might think your dog is trick smart, but mine was REALLy smart!

I would like to own at some point,
Great Dane
Labrador
Boxer
Pug
Mastiff
GSD
Dalmatian
Cocker spaniel
Springer spaniel
Golden retriever

Yeah, when I was 13 I had a ton of crazy unrealistic dreams too. Seriously as you mature you’ll hopefully learn the responsibilities that come with dog ownership and from your list I’d have to point out being realistic about your wants with dogs. Dogs cost money to get, to maintain and can get even more expensive in their elderly years to the day you have to put them down (huge emotional cost there too). Hey, I love dogs as much as the next person but it’s not like collecting baseball caps or posters…dogs are real, living beings. Like another poster mentioned: the average life span of a dog can be 10 years (large breeds) to close to 20 years for small breeds. It’s not realistic to think you’ll be able to own so many breeds unless you plan to live a few hundred years. Seriously though you should concentrate first on your general lifestyle (once you’re older and living on your own) and then do the research to find what breed most fits your lifestyle. You’d be blown away by how the wrong dog in the wrong household can be hell for everyone-it happens all the time-look at most of the posts on most any dog-related message board. Well, I’ve rambled on enough but my main point is you need to spend time studying what makes a good dog owner and start figuring out the type of dog that is best for you. Shelter associates will be happy to do the match-making for you AND you’d be saving a life! Crazy dreams are better directed at less harmful goals: My 2nd year in college it was my goal to eat pizza at least once from every pizza place listed in the phone book-LOL! Now, that’s a dream…and I made it come true (much to my parent’s horror)!

I have the EXACT same dream as you :)
I have a huge list of breeds I would love to own, but the top breeds I HAVE to own in my life are a Staffy and a Bull terrier. I think though that throughout the rest of my life I will mainly adopt from shelters, but along the way will fulfill my dreams the best I can. lol :D
