How much do you think petsmart will charge to groom a 60 pound golden retriever. Flea dip and all.?

I just got the dog, whoa here now. I know about both fleas and heartworms and how to kill fleas around the house and everything. I gave her frontline and she is sill itching from the fles, gave it to her about a week ago.

Nobody does flea dips anymore. Flea shampoo maybe, but not dumping a dog into a tub full of watered down poison.

Call them and ask.

Your dog should NOT need a “flea dip” – you need to put a topical liquid like Frontline Plus or Advantix on the back of his neck every single month – that keeps all fleas and ticks off him.

You are seriously failing your dog if you do not do this every single month as there are a lot flea and tick borne illnesses – and no dog should get fleas.

If he is seriously infested, he needs to go to your vet for a pill, Capstar, that will get all fleas off him within the hour – then you put Frontline Plus or
Advantix on him.

If your house is infested, you need to get rid of those fleas, wash the dog’s bedding, vacuum all rugs and sofas, then throw the bag out. Use a chemical deflea agent if you have to – but get those fleas out of your house, then make sure your dog is protected.

I hope you are giving your dog a heartworm preventative monthly, that is cheap and prevents a very serious disease that will ultimately kill him.
Your vet can test for heartworm – it is a fast, cheap test done in his office – then you get the preventative, it comes generic for just a couple of dollars.
Please get your dog flea and tick proofed asap, dips only work on adult fleas and are temporary, the key here is PREVENTION.
