Looking for my dream breed?

By

I am looking for an affectionate, medium small dog (35 pounds at largest). I would like him to be furry, with soft fur like a golden or a husky (I am well aware that THOSE are not small dogs). Not fond of poodles, or wire haired dogs. I don’t mind if he sheds.
I am looking for a companion to cuddle with at night, and one that will encourage me to exercise more. I don’t want to plunge suddenly into 1 hour runs, so a medium energy level would be nice, so that I don’t exhaust myself, or neglect his exercise needs.
Any ideas?

Weaton Terrier, also look on dogbreedinfo.com.

Sounds like what you want is a sweet, all-American mutt. Maybe a spaniel mix?

3

Get a Beagle, so long has you take it on a 15 minute walk twice a day, it will be your best friend.

I would suggest a Border Collie, yes they are extremely hyperactive, but they are playful, furry, warm and very affectionate. If you are willing to go on runs and you want a dog to encourage you to exercise, this is probably a dog you would like. I have had one my entire life and I love mine sooo much!!! She is so smart, and so excitable and so loyal to her family.
All in all get a border collie.

Go check out your local shelter! You’re sure to find a great dog that fits your needs there! If you don’t, petfinder.com is also a great option.

If you go on the kennel club website, you can do a short quiz which will help you find a breed to suit your lifestyle. Other websites do them too, might come up with a breed you havent thought of.
Good luck with your puppy search:)
I think a Bichon frise might suit you x

We have a Cairn Terrier. She weighs about 18 pounds, has a lot of energy and loves to run. But she does like to sit on a lap, get her tummy rubbed, and get loved on in general. They are stubborn dogs and she took a while to train- but now, at 3 years old, she is the best dog I could imagine having.

Their a little bigger but they are no hyper active crazy intense Labrador retriever. Its a golden retriever I’ve had 2 they are very calm after a brisk 30 minute walk with me he always sleeps with me and normally goes every where with me in car rides. Or a american eskimo dog those are medium size and very sweet my friend has one she’s so very cute :)

Try researching papillons. They are a cute little breed.
