What counties or towns in Colorado permit pitbulls?
ByI lived in CO. before the ban and was a pit owner. I have always had a pit since I was an infant. My pits are a big part of my life and I will not let anyone take them away. What gives them the right to tell me I can’t have my dogs, I owen the property where they will live! I pay taxes, I vote, and it is my constitutional right of personal freedom and happiness! My Pit Bulls make me happy! The majority of dog attacks are not even pits, and what do they think a bull mastiff is? It is the largest of the bull breeds and they didn’t ban them, simply because “pit” is not in the name. Even poodles can be vicious but they didn’t ban them. The majority of dog attacks are German Shephards but they didn’t ban them! Please, someone knows, what county, or town, will my dogs be safe in Colorado?

mmmm…..im not sure. id go to a place where i didnt have to do any of thoses things fer sure.
they banned pits b/c they were breed to kill, gaurd and attack, there fore they might have a short temper & require alot of training we have to admit thats true. (& yes there are other dangerous breeds too.) ANY dog can make the perfect family dog with the right training and rules. its NeveR the dogs fault for agrresion. there is always a reason a dog attacks…

I also live in Colorado and right now the two cites that currently have bans are Denver and Aurora. However, what the future hold, who knows. I learned a lot when I followed around a pit bull dog who is a certified therapy dog for an afternoon. Here is a link to that video http://www.puppiesanddogsinfo.com/?p=17
A good source that knows where Breed Specific Legislation is occurring is NAIAonline.org.

Not sure of exact counties as I am not familar with Colorado, but here is a rescue website. If you contact them I’m sure they can help you. I also read through an online news article that said they were fining people $700 if they were caught with a pit-bull. So then what? I think every county has their own “rules”. Sorry I couldn’t help more.
ADD: Here is the article about the fine:

Under the ban, 1,042 pit bulls have been euthanized or banned from Aurora in the last two years. ………..the dogs, usually pit bulls, must be moved out of the city or euthanized. The owner also faces a mandatory $700 fine.

you tried contacting your local police station, the animal welfare department or something? they should know
and while yes i agree a breed ban is bad, the very reason it comes down to it is because the police need some leverage to get to the figthing enviroments
i belive these are just symptomes of the real problem which is rigth there -> your liberty to do as you pleases regardless of who it otherwise effect (humans or animals)
if your average american could let go of their ingrown liberty stuborness, then your politicans could make proper animal welfare laws who would allow the police to do their jobb without these breed bans and all that jazz, they would be able to shut down the horible mills who produce bad lines, they could sease dogs who were obvious figthers without needing to have to catch the owners in the act etc
and that would mean they could leave you the responsible dog owners alone
and that is something you dog owners in US need to try and work for, push your politicans to make laws that will mainly hurt the criminals instead of you law abiding citizens, it will be a minor cost to you to have the police come onto your properties…because as long as you have a good dogholding they have nothing to say and wont focus on you…they will focus and use their privileges from the law to go on the cost of the bad owners and take those dogs
your liberty rigths dont give you any major benefits today, they are just a wall the criminals can hide behind, stop being so afraid of leting go a little of them, and you are the ones who all in all will pay a lesser cost and benefit from it because you have yours in the clear
sometimes giving up a little of your constitutional freedom is a nesicary cost for a higher social benefit that you can reap from as well…if you as a population can see this, then it will be easier for your goverment to make the laws that wont make it posible for criminals to hide behind their “constitutional freedom”, and they wont have to pass laws that hurt law obiding citizens to get around this barrier to get to the bad guys
but you cant always have your cake and eat it too, sometimes you got to make a choise of what is the lesser evil..laws dont threathen the ones who follow it, it only threathens the ones who dont
