I think boxer is the best because I have 3 of them my mom is a boxeraddict but they can vey easily be trained

GSDs are NOT aggressive if bred correctly. I currently have 3 out of my 5 GSDs that are registered therapy dogs!!.the 2 that aren’t are still puppies. Boxers can have genetic heart problems. make sure the parents og your pup have had all their health clearances done.

I really think you people who have posted above me need to brush up on your knowledge of GSDs. You don’t have a clue on what your talking about

Boxers are great family dogs. But then by being a Boxer owner I am a little biased. They are protective of their family without being aggressive. Generally they are gentle, kind, easygoing and good natured. Both of my Boxer’s are trained St John’s therapy dogs. They tend to be more laid back but then again with any breed you are going to get the exception to any rule, you might find a Boxer that is just spun. They do mellow with age. I have owned (for 12yrs) and fostered ( for 3yrs) Boxer’s and seen all kinds. The two that I have owned have spent most of the day sleeping but they do love and require a lot of human contact. They generally get along with most any other dog and/or cat. However this breed can easily develop separation anxiety and like every other breed there are some health issues to watch out for. The best advice anyone can give you is to do a lot of research on each breed. If you can talk to and spend time with owners and their dogs of both breeds. This will help you make a much more informed choice which will in the end make you and your puppy happier. don’t forget that with any dog training is very important, this is what will make your life a lot easier and your dog more content.

Boxers are very gentle but you have to consider the smell . they pass gas all the time. It almost drives you out of your house. And they snore worse than people. I had one and I know .Very nice dogs though. You will need lots of room. they get to be pretty big. they are gentle giants. Good with kids to. If you like big dogs you might consider a st. bernard they are wonderful with kids. I had one of them too. It used to race me for the bed, I had to give it up though because I was in the tavern business and didn’t have the time for it . they need alot of love just as any other dog . I found a family with four kids and they loved the dog so I just gave it away. I paid about two hundred for it when it was a pup. Good Luck deciding on you baby.

Which is a better dog depends on what you want out of the dog. There is no such thing is a good or bad dog. If you would like a dog that is the companion to you, that you can wrestle with, that worship the very ground you walk on. Then maybe you should get something like a Labrador retriever. These tend to be people pleasers. If you want a dog that is not going to demand a walk, that is going to be good companionship for you in that small apartment, and is going to be extremely intelligent, then maybe you should consider something like small breed of dog. Surprisingly you can also have one large breed of dog that meets all of these qualifications but does not require that much space and that is a Greyhound despite their size they do not need a lot of space they’re happy just to lay around.

Shepherds are MUCH easier to train. Good breeders almost always guarantee good temperment too. I’ve known people with Boxers and those dogs are dumber than bricks. They jump all over you and drool like crazy too. My mother in law has a shepherd puppy, Samson, who is the sweetest thing you could imagine. He even gets along with my 11 year old brother in law’s Chihuahua. Not all shepherds are mean.

German Sheperds suffer health problems a lot with hips, they are also the dog likely to turn (due to excessive inbreeding), so my choice would be a Boxer. They are fairly calm dogs.
